Welcome to Language Point - Sunderland City Council's Interpretation and Translation Service

Bridging the Language GapWe offer affordable, quality and professional language support to organisations such as the National Health Service (NHS), solicitors, local authorities and private businesses which need to communicate with non-English speaking clients.

People who may require the services of a professional interpreter or translator include: International Students, Economic Migrants or Asylum Seekers and Refugees.

Others who may require an interpreter are those who are hard of hearing or deaf, who use British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate.  Those who are partially sighted or blind, may require documents to be translated in to Braille or recorded in an audio format.

All of Language Point's interpreters and translators undergo a strict selection procedure and have nationally recognised qualifications in community interpretation or translation.
