Sunderland City Council is seeking to make more information open to the public. The Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Environmental Information Regulations 2004 are now law in the U.K. The general principles of the legislation are to give citizens the right to access information held by Public Authorities unless this can be shown not to be in the Public interest and this will include exemptions relating to Public Security, Privacy of the Individual, etc.

View our database of food businesses to see the result of Primary Food Hygiene Inspections carried out by Environmental Health staff within Sunderland City Council area from 1st April 2008. (Inspections are undertaken daily and will be uploaded regularly).
